First of all I recommend you to use FreeRadius 0.5.
In the web interface of the box click on "Authentication". In the right
frame click on "Modify". Set "Validation" to either "radiusUsers" or
"staticThenRadius".
Enter the IP address of your primary Radius server into "Host Address",
and the address of the backup server (if you have one) into the
"Secondary Host Address" field. The "Host Port" should be 1645 or 1812,
depending on how you counfigured the RADIUS server.
Leave the "Timeout" and the "Retries" field as they are. Enter the
shared secret into "Secret" (don't forget to set the same secret in the
FreeRadius configuration). "NAS Identifier" can be any string you like
to have in your logs.
Enter the IP address of your primary accounting server into "Accounting
Address" (probably the same as "Host Address", and the address of the
backup server (if you have one) into the "Secondary Accounting Address"
field. The "Host Port" should be 1646 or 1813, depending on how you
counfigured the RADIUS server.
You probably want to have authentication and accounting, so set
"Accounting Enable" to "enableAccounting", "RADIUS Packet Format" to
"fullRfcPacket" and "RADIUS Session ID Size" to 8.
Now submit the changes and see if it works for you. If it does, don't
forget to *save* the changes or they will be lost the next time you
restart the Patton box.
