I must say I am unsure how I would do it differently if I was the Nas software developer. -- Johan Meiring Cape PC Services CC Tel: (021) 883-8271 Fax: (021) 886-7782 Before acting on this email or opening any attachments you should read Cape PC Service's email disclaimer at: http://www.pcservices.co.za/disclaimer.html - List info/subscribe/unsubscribe? Re: Very huge Acct-Session-Time
Thanks a lot. This was a problem reported by the end client. I will suggest them to either replace it or do a re-configuration of NAS. Re: Very huge Acct-Session-Time
That acct-session-time is just a Unix timestamp. As already said, either the NAS has bugs, in which case, check if it has any available firmware updates, or its incorrectly configured...or replace it, or write lots of funky scripts or sql procedures to handle it. alan -- This smartphone has free WiFi worldwide with eduroam, now that IS smart - List info/subscribe/unsubscribe? RE: Very huge Acct-Session-Time
This applies to messages with Acct-Status-Type set to both Interim-Update and Stop. Acctstarttime is calculated from current date and Acct-Session-Time but 1970-01-01 is minimal possible value. This is sample for one client MAC address. radacctid | acctsessionid | nasipaddress | acctstarttime | acctstoptime | callingstationid ---+---+ ---+++--- 19308 | 2c:44:01:ee:80:da:poznan-internet-free:1335696598 | 10.255.223.71 | 2012-04-29 18:39:44+02 | 2012-04-29 18:46:08+02 | 2c:44:01:ee:80:da -- View this message in context: http://freeradius.1045715.n5.nabble.com/Very-huge-Acct-Session-Time-tp5679718p5679847.html Sent from the FreeRadius - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. - List info/subscribe/unsubscribe? RE: Very huge Acct-Session-Time
Wild and illogical guess: look at the time on your NAS device. Maybe it is set to a crazy point in the past or future and this is (somehow) messing up the NAS calculations. That said, the Acct-Session-Time looks to me like a timestamp for about the current date & time: $ date +%s 1335942133 $ This value is pretty close to the value in your post. > Also, Is the Status type ok? I mean its other than Start/Stop. It's an interim message. Roughly, "the session is still in progress and here is the current picture". Are you getting start and stop messages? Or only interim? If so, maybe if the NAS is broken with Interim, just turn them off. -Original Message- From: freeradius-users-bounces+claude.brown=vividwireless.com...@lists.freeradius.org [mailto:freeradius-users-bounces+claude.brown=vividwireless.com...@lists.freeradius.org] On Behalf Of Sharad P Sent: Wednesday, 2 May 2012 4:46 PM To: freeradius-users@lists.freeradius.org Subject: Re: Very huge Acct-Session-Time So how to move forward now?
