What do you mean by subcortical WM? Technically, there is no WM in 
cortex, so all WM is sub-cortical whereas GM can be cortical or subcortical

I had a follow up question regarding the CerebralWhiteMatter variable from 
aseg.stats.


1.   Does this include the white matter underlying the cortex?

2.   How about the subcortical white matter? (For example, I noticed  that 
there was a separate value for gray matter -SubCortGray- but not for white
