There are some plugins for mediawiki to support multilanguage, either inline or on a separate page. Is there a good wiki engine which allows the documentation to be edited as files in a file system as well as via a Web interface - something like Ikiwiki which uses Git or another version control system to store the files, perhaps? On occasion I have wished I could add to or update the wiki easily, but there are two problems. 1. The current wiki requires a captcha to be completed in order to register an account. I can't see the captcha - this is an accessibility issue. 2. Editing anything through a Web interface is painful. If I could edit the content as files in Emacs or Vim it would be much easier, and I would be more likely to do it instead of deciding that the difficulty and inconvenience are simply too great. Take a look at this for instance, for an example of inline translation: http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/ Check the: "Translations of this page" -- all in the same page, I'd love to have something like that for FreeSWITCH. Along with a good search engine on the wiki (not Google). The other way we could do is set up a fr.freeswitch.org with mediawiki on it and you start to translate from the English wiki. But I think inline translation would be better for this. Hi Meftah, I'm more than happy to help with the documentation and anything else related to FreeSWITCH. As you mention the documentation and translation, there are some things that I would really like to improve in the documentation. I propose that we start a new documentation from the ground up, we really need a better wiki engine that supports inline translation and a better search engine. I'm open to do all the hard work like porting the entire documentation to it. We could put the new wiki on a sub-domain like: newdocs.freeswitch.org and I do all the work there, without affecting others. That way we could have inline documentation like this: status - show status information status - mostrar informacion de estado It's up to others to decide if this is really worth or not. I'm open to help and to give my time to improve things like documentation, etc :).
