[Freevo-users] StreamZap USB Remote, any got lirc build directory for this?
I just recently checked out lirc via cvs and applied the streamzap patch, but I'm getting compile errors. I'm not sure if this is due to some changes in cvs for the lirc project. Does anyone have a build directory of lirc with a streamzap patch applied and is successful at compiling? Any chance of me getting it? BTW: I'm one step closer to getting my FreeVO box up. I just bought a wireless nic (NetGear MA311) and got it communicating with my network to download TV schedules and such. It's also tied into my movie and mp3 library. Re: [Freevo-users] Power on via remote
The key is having the signal which tells you the PC is powerd up, there's got to be such a pin somewhere on the mobo. It's a lng time since I've dabbled in such areas but I've had a hunt around today and found the following: It seems there is a slightly more intelligent "build yourself" IR dongle which supports this sort of thing, in fact it will support: - Wake-on-LAN - Wake-on-Modem - Wake-on-Power-button (well duh!) It's available in kit form, or built for you from here: http://users.skynet.be/sky50985/ They also have a great link to an explanation about building and installing such a device: http://www.fukushima.us/UIRT2/ Now there is an LIRC driver for this (experimental) http://www.turbobit.com/lirc.html (look for UIRT2) This seems quite an elegant solution, I know it's another microcontroller based solution, but it is possible to buy it assembled and doesn't seem to involve any guesswork. Now if I can just finish installing the bathroom maybe I can convince my wife we NEED one of these :-) Kev --- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now. Re: [Freevo-users] Power on via remote
Seems like there should be an easier way to do this without needing a microcontroller. What about a simple logic circuit that does as follows: 1. Check some pin on the motherboard to see if it is fully powered up. 2. If not powered up, then if there is any activity on IR receiver, toggle wake on lan signal to power up the PC (or just toggle power pin, that your front panel power button connects to). 3. Ignore any IR activity while the PC is fully powered on. The key is having the signal which tells you the PC is powerd up, there's got to be such a pin somewhere on the mobo. -Rich --- Kevin Barsby <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Hi, > > I am looking into the possibility of powering on a > Freevo device via the > remote. > > It looks like the only way to do it is via a > wake-on-LAN or modem ring > from a suspend or suspend to disk state. > > I have found one project that is useful : > > http://markh.de/wakeonlirc/ > > Has anyone else found a way around this problem? > > Thanks > Kev > > > > --- > This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built > ASP.NET sites including > Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are > available now. > Download today and enter to win an XBOX or Visual > Studio .NET. > http://aspnet.click-url.com/go/psa0016ave/direct;at.asp_061203_01/01 > ___ > Freevo-users mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freevo-users __ Do you Yahoo!? Noticed something when deleting movies. It seems that if you select that imdb thing for movie it creates .fxd file or something like that. When you go do delete movie, fxd file stays there and Movie name text appears in movie menu even though movie is deleted. Then you have to delete .fxd file by hand to get rid of it.

Hi, I am looking into the possibility of powering on a Freevo device via the remote. It looks like the only way to do it is via a wake-on-LAN or modem ring from a suspend or suspend to disk state. If you want, you can modify the code directly to change the icon positioning. The default settings on mine caused most icons to be hidden under the Freevo logo. Edit src/plugins/idlebar.py You'll see the draw function copied below(this one is for mail), you can edit the first number in : osd.drawbitmap(self.TVLOCKED,100,25) the 100 is the horizontal/x coordinate for the start of the icon, the other number is the vertical/y. def draw(self, (type, object)): if self.checktv() == 1: osd.drawbitmap(self.TVLOCKED,100,25) else: osd.drawbitmap(self.TVFREE,100,25) --- mick <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I anything in your local_conf being listenined to? > Maybe freevo has > lost it for some reason? > > On Thu, 2003-07-03 at 02:01, Georg Künzel wrote: > > -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- > > Hash: SHA1 > > > > I've played around with the new binary release > (nice > > work !) and encountered a few problems. > > > > 1. idlebar > > I tried to move the icons to the right side. > Increased > > 'level' to 40 (mail), 50 (tv) and 70 (clock), but > positions > > didn't change at all. > > > > 2. idlebar.clock > > I would like to change format and font size - > found it hardcoded. > > Maybe it would make sense to have it configurable > via local_conf > > > > 3. df plugin > > Tried to activate this plugin.
