RE: [Freevo-users] Is there such a thing as a guide on configuring Freevo?
Hmm, okay... Just ran the kernel using vga=791 and it seems to run.. Albeit rather unresposively. None of my old vcd's, svcds or divx's work. Although I did get it to display pictures, no idea whether music will work. Anyone got any ideas? Using the ne isa module for that. [Freevo-users] New RPM Release Date?
When could we expect a new RPM release. Not to be lazy but I am running into a bunch of issues with building the runtime. I believe it was a kernel recompile that I performed earlier (trying to get a TI chipped Wireless card to work with it). I have switched the distro and will start over tonight.

[Freevo-users] Basic Xine support
Hi, those of you who want DVDnav support should try the xine plugin in CVS. It's only a proof of concept, it's a bad hack. Please read the notes at the top of the file. Please don't send bug reports, it will be replaced later. I have nothing special on my TODO list right now, so I will create a Freevo<->Xine-lib connection to use all features of Xine, controlled by Freevo. But this will take a while. Dischi BTW, G400 users who have color problems with vidixfb output from xine should try cvs. I had a small thread with one of the developers and it's fixed now. -- My mind not only wanders, sometimes it leaves completely. --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: VM Ware With VMware you can run multiple operating systems on a single machine. [Freevo-users] How to activate the notification bar
Hi I have been using Freevo on my Gentoo/VIA system for a while now, and I just love the new plugin stuff with imdb and cover search. However, I cannot get the notification bar to show. I searched the documentation, search the source code, tried different skins, but I still cannot figure out how to activate/configure it :) I am pretty sure that it is just me beeing dumb, but if someone could give me a hint of what to do, it would be very nice :) Btw, I am using 1.3.2, emerge in Gentoo Thanks in advance Claus Nyhus --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: VM Ware With VMware you can run multiple operating systems on a single machine. Re: [Freevo-users] SDL, g400, and dfbmga
Oooh! I think found a bug. (I think this could be considered my first real contribution to the OS community...) I tried some more, I couldn't get *any* version of SDL to compile on my machine, patched or not. It always bombed out at the same point, complaining about undeclared variables in the directfb module. (I wish I had the exact output, but it scrolled out of my buffer. I could reproduce it if it's important.) Searched some mailing lists... Found this message: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.sdl/8700/match=directfb The situation described didn't exactly match what was happening on my box, (the configure script was finding directfb OK), but I decided to set the PKG_CONFIG_PATH variable anyway. It worked, the patched version of SDL compiled fine. Why? I really don't know. I'm hoping a light will go on in someone's head. (Aubin?) I'll confirm tomorrow that SDL is indeed working OK. Thanks for all the help. -Nick On Monday 21 July 2003 07:48 pm, Aubin Paul wrote: > On Mon, Jul 21, 2003 at 07:03:28PM -0700, Nick Hatch wrote: > > I'm having quite a bit more trouble getting the dfbmga setup to work with > > SDL, however. Re: [Freevo-users] SDL, g400, and dfbmga
I couldn't achieve to make directfb work with freevo too, but maybe this question is outdated with the new release of directfb (0.9.19). In the changelog the say "Added option "primary-layer=" to swap the primary with the specified one, this way all applications can be started on the second head (Matrox)." So it may be possible to avoid using sdl patch, and use fonctionality of directfb only to get freevo to work on TV ...
