I'll try that. Do you have the mplayer-args you used to use for software
scaling?

But...

Don't I mess up playing the other types of files then?

Hi, I'm wondering how I can change volume while playing movie in Freevo. I
am using 1.4rc3. I typed "h" and it shows keypad for volume control. I hit +
or minus on keyboard and bar pops up but nothing changes.

[Freevo-users] Problems with audio Tracks, 16:9 and events

2003-11-09 Thread Black-Byte
Hello all,

i have some problems here with Freevo 1.4rc2 on Gentoo with Matrox
G400
1) I have some Movies with more than one Audio Track (different
Languages). But Freevo plays only the first One i have no Option to
select a differnt Track. With earlyer Versions of Freevo i hat no
Problem with this.

2) Some of my Movies are displayed wrong .. looks like a 16:9 movie
stretched to 4:3. (I have a 4:3 TV) But how i could change it back?

3) I try some experiments with EVENTS but nothing works.
First the example from loacl_conf.py (changed to a differnt button)
"EVENTS['video']['3'] = Event(VIDEO_SEND_MPLAYER_CMD, arg='contrast-100')"
it only works like a AGAIN button it works like the last used
Button. Strange.
The second try with "EVENTS['video']['SCAN'] = Event(VIDEO_NEXT_AUDIOLANG')"
kills Freevo at Start.

I hope some one could help me and give me some hints.

Fixed in CVS

That's a bug in the movie file I guess. You need special mplayer
options for it (fxd file or .conf). See mplayer man page for details.

Strange, but IIRC there needs to be a space between contrast and
-100.

Full trace please. Or try to remove the lat ' after AUDIOLANG

No, this has to be a gentoo bug. Report the error there.

Why do you need that? If 1.4rcX have problems, please report them

[Freevo-users] 2 questions, fresh install and F6

2003-11-09 Thread Tim Walter
For various reasons I need to install afresh...

Whats the best route to installing freevo currently? 1.4rc1 then rc3
over the top, if so how do I ensure it is installed in the correct
directory? Or can I install straight to rc3 somehow?

Second. On my current system the F6 key doesn't seem to function
correctly... i.e. it triggers a record option but without any choices.
How do I get to choose when to record, similar to the webserver choices.
(Sounds stupid but I can't figure it out anywhere!)

(1.3.4 seemed to give options for channel and time to start and
recording duration etc. which I haven't seen in 1.4 versions)

Thanks

[Freevo-users] Dual Language Divx (Bivx) / Timeformat

2003-11-09 Thread Torben Janssen
Hi,

I have one Bivx(?) here. It is Dual-Language. Is there any possibility
to switch the language on runtime?
Now I created a fxd file with the "-aid 2" Mplayer Option. I looked at
the MPlayer man-page but I did not found any slave command for the
language.
Does anyone know something about it? The NEXT_VIDEOLANG(?) Event is only
for xine, I guess?
Is there a Conf-Way to change the format of the idlebar.clock? I thougth
there was a way, but I can't find it anymore.
thanx

Hi torben,
Have you checked to menu via "E" when you selected to video? I have an
option here to select which audio-track i want to hear when playing the
movie!

You can adjust the clock like the output from the "date" command, check "man
date" and "freevo plugins -i idlebar.clock" to get some hints on how you can
do this...

[Freevo-users] new runtime available for testing

2003-11-09 Thread Rob Shortt
Hi,

I have put together a new binary runtime and if there are no problems
reported with it I will post it on the downloads page. It contains many
updated libraries, python modules, and python 2.3.2. If you are running
anon cvs or a snapshot, and Freevo from a single directory (as opposed
to installed into your python directory) please test.

Because this relies on a fix I did earlier today only tomorrow's
snapshot (or developer cvs) and forward will work. You can test this by:

cd /path/to/freevo
wget http://freevo.sourceforge.net/runtime/freevo-runtime-0.2.tar.gz
./freevo install freevo-runtime-0.2.tar.gz
This will install dll/, lib/, apps/, runapp/, and preloads file into the
runtime/ directory. I have done some quick tests and it has been
working fine for me. If there are no problems it will be released with
1.4rc4 or 1.4.

Also, if the runtime is missing any python modules that you feel should
be included please mention it.

Thanks,
-Rob

sort this out in a bit.

[Freevo-users] Keyboard Mapping when running Mplayer

2003-11-09 Thread Jim Duda
I'm struggling with the use of keyboard keys when using freevo
with mplayer.

While using the freevo menu, playing audio, images, etc., the
keyboard uses the freevo keybindings as I would expect. When
I watch videos or movies using mplayer, I need to use the mplayer
keyboard mappings. I am under the impression that mplayer would
use the keyboard mappings from freevo, since freevo sends the
commands to mplayer since it's operating as a slave to freevo.

This is causing me problems because I'm using an RF remote,
not an LIRC device. I need to issue commands from the remote
using the a2x program which sends keyboard strokes to the
current X application. My keyboard strokes appear to be sent to the
mplayer application (which consumes the entire screen) instead
of freevo.

My problem is caused by the fact I cannot determine at the
unix level if freevo is using mplayer for video, images, or audio.
When watching videos, I need to use the mplayer keydefs,
otherwise the freevo keydefs (audio and images).

Does this make sense to anyone? Is there anyway I can determine
at the unix shell level if mplayer is being used for videos vs audio?

Thanks,

Jim Duda
