[Freevo-users] Cool new use of Freevo

2004-10-16 Thread Chris Metcalf
I thought I'd tip off the list to a cool new project I've used Freevo
in:

http://chrismetcalf.net/blog/archives/2004/10/16/digital-picture-frame/

I've built a digital picture frame using Freevo and an old laptop.
Digital picture frames have been done before, but I've never seen
anybody do it using Freevo.

Check it out!

Thanks,

[Freevo-users] Re: Audio and DVB Question

2004-10-16 Thread David Thompson
Hello:
I posted last week with a number of setup problems .. all of which I
was able to resolve but had to spend a lot of time doing so .. ie ..
rebuilding MPlayer, downloading new perl modules, etc .

It was well worth the effort though ... Would be glad to help out
anyone trying to simplify setup as this is a really superb programme.

Have two last questions though ..
1. Using freevo-xine-vdr plugin I find that running xine(displaying
vdr) from within FREEVO takes over my PCM audio control and always
raises it to maximum.

This does not happen with running vdr in xine outside of Freevo .. and
it is very difficult to change audio levels within Freevo .. as I have
a 5.1 system and need a full mixer ..

Can anyone help me to solve this audio issue?
2. Can I set up "Watch TV" to use the xmltv guide but to go to digital
(dvb-t) stations rather than their analogue equivalent using MPlayer ..

For instance - channel 4 never comes in via DVB so I watch it in
analogue but BBC does and I would like to watch these in DVB. Since
MPlayer can display both tv:// and dvb:// has anyone adjusted so that
some programs call up dvb channel and some tv?

Cheers and thanks in advance for your help.
David Thompson
