Re: [Freevo-users] urls with questiomarks in webradio.fxd
To make a long story short. I used .pls files to identify the live365 stations I want to listen to, as I could not get the urls in webradio.fxd to work... [Freevo-users] Videolan-client for web radio
I've recently become very interested in listening to aacPlus radio channels (Alot can be seen fromhttp:// www.tuner2.com ). AacPlus delivers vastly improved soundquality/bitrate compared to ordinary mp3, and support streaming 5.1 surround sound. however it uses a modified shoutcast stream, which can only be interpreted correctly by videolan-client.. Is there any way of overiding the player for web radio alone, and maybe even just for individual stations? - Jesper --- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users. Hello Sebastian, you might get an opinion or two here but you're probably far better asking your question on the alsa mailing list I'd guess (freevo uses standard players like mplayer or xine so it's a general linux compatibility issue not a freevo one). Neither of those cards will allow a 44.1khz PCM bitstream to traverse it's SPDIF circuit unmolested. My Freevo system is six inches from a DTS capable receiver, so SPDIF is what i want. I bought an Audigy hoping to get there and that ended up being a $50 mistake. Noticed an undocumented SPDIF header on my motherboard. Plugged in a dongle that matched it, it works - but only at 48khz. Bought a cheap Yamaha based card with on-card optical output. Same thing. On a lark, plugged in my old DXR3, works perfectly for coaxial spdif 44.1 and 48, pcm, ac3, dts, all work. But at this point, I'm using a 2U rack mount case and can use only 1 agp slot and 1 pci slot, and i want to keep the pci slot open for an HD tuner some time this summer. I ended up buying a new motherboard that has SPDIF on the backplate (A7V880) and hope that it will be able to deliver multiple rates of SPDIF. I get to figure that out this week. --- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
