Any removable media should be auto-detected if you have hal
running. If not, only rom drives are detected. This is not done by
freevo, it is done by beacon. If you insert a disc, you should be able
to see it. If not, it is a bug in beacon or freevo.

[Freevo-users] [2.0 Config] Mount ROM drives

2007-02-13 Thread TGT
Hi,

today I experimented a little bit with the new freevo ebuilds and the 2.0
config file... But I was wondering about how to set additional mount points
(e.g. DVD/CD drives).

Any hints!?
Thanks a lot, Tom.

Re: [Freevo-users] Testers required for DVB Live Pause Plugin

2007-02-13 Thread Adam Charrett
Yep I'm afraid at the moment DVBStreamer doesn't support ATSC but if there is
enough interest I will look into adding a sister app, something like
ATSCStreamer :-).Although you could see if there are any new services by typing
lsservices. You may find that you have a number of services which are
alphanumeric, try streaming one of these.CheersAdamTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

Testers required for DVB Live Pause Plugin

Adam,
I'm very interested in this feature. I have
downloaded and compiled dvbstreamer, however, I'm unable to figure out how to
get the software to work with my pcHDTV 5500 card, using ATSC. I suspect
that dvbstreamer doesn't support at ATSC channels.conf file.

My channels.conf file entries look like this
...
WGBH-HD:503028615:8VSB:49:52:3WGBH-SD:503028615:8VSB:65:68:4WCVB-DT:509028615:8VSB:49:52:3
However, attempted to "select WGBH-HD" in dvbstreamer
doesn't work.

In my haste to press send I forgot to add a few
things. In VideoGroups for your dvb adapters set the vdev to the
number of the adapter,ie if you are using /dev/dvb/adapter0 you would have
  something like.VIDEO_GROUPS = [
  VideoGroup(vdev='0',
  desc='Watching
  TV',
group_type='dvb')] Also the controls for live pause are the normal
pause/ffwd/rewind buttons.I haven't tested this with other types of
devices, so it probably won't work with other type of video
group.Rewind and Fast forward do work, although xine takes some time
to resync to the stream (anything upto 30 seconds),not idea, I'm looking
  into this.CheersAdam

Re: [Freevo-users] Fedora Core 6 and pwr mgt

2007-02-13 Thread Stephen Rowles

I run FC6,

Didn't do much, I THINK that all you need is:

 Option "nodpms"

In your /etc/X11/xorg.conf

In the "Monitor" Section for your TV. That will stop the screen blanking
