(corrected url for vid, and new thread.. Im sorry) Hello.. seriously.. its getting impossible to quit this mouse cursor out of screen! I have tried all I could 1 - creating transparent icon for the mouse cursor, as said in: http://graphics.cs.ucdavis.edu/~okreylos/ResDev/Vrui/X11ClusterRendering.html Inside /etc/X11/nologin, created a text file EmptyCursor with the following contents: #define Emptycursor_width 16 #define Emptycursor_height 16 static unsigned char Emptycursor_bits[] = { 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00}; Then gone to: /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc (the script for all the xsessions when starting) and added: # global xinitrc file, used by all X sessions started by xinit (startx) xsetroot -solid red unclutter -idle 1 & xsetroot -cursor /etc/X11/nologin/EmptyCursor /etc/X11/nologin/EmptyCursor Ok.. This gives a high quality signal, and combined with the hardware support for syncing with the TV refresh etc, makes for a decent TV viewing experience. If you're viewing the output of your graphics card via a VGA or DVI/HDCP then there shouldn't really be any observable difference between a G400 and any semi-modern graphics card that can manage xv hardware acceleration. Re: [Freevo-users] Embedding flash player in freevo
About a month ago put together a simple youtube freevo plugin by pretty much compiling the youtube-dl and appletrailers plugin with my simple implementation of Youtube's XMLRPC API. You need a youtube developer id to access it. You'll have to add it to the plugins code since I didn't move it to the config file before I stopped working on the project. I never really finished it because I couldn't get the streaming from youtube with mplayer to work. No matter how low I set the cache, mplayer is never able to start playing the file straight away. It takes minutes rather than seconds. With Xine playback is somewhat better but atleast I don't get sound. Maybe it's my packages. It's not beautiful python code since I'm more C++ kind of guy(Where is my for loop?! :P). I'm sure a more qualified python programmer could build up from this. Get it from: http://taimy.kapsi.fi/src/youtube.py > I think it would be fantastic, that freevo itself could handle this... by > example: > > I enter a movie directory with 50 movies. instead of scrolling down > until selecting s* movies, > it would be great I could programme "7" remote key to access to letter "s" > the way the phones > do to navigate through the listing directory... don´t you think? > > For xmame roms directory, it would be not great, but FANTASTIC! > > John Molohan escribió (Thu, 12 Apr 2007 09:40:53 +0100): >> Patrick Carey wrote: >>> I found this http://www.arrakis.es/~rggi3/youtube-dl/ >>> >>> might be a useful starting point, i think this would be a very >>> nice plugin but for it to be really useful you would need some >>> way to search from within freevo and some way to enter text with >>> a remote as I'm sure a lot of people don't have keyboards >>> connected to their freevo box. >>> >>> maybe these things can already be done, i'm not sure >>> >>> Paddy >> >> >> Have a look at the code for setting a manual recording - it allows >> you to enter text for the name of the program with a remote in a >> similar fashion to non predictive text entry on a phone. >> >> John >> >> >> - Take Surveys. Re: [Freevo-users] Embedding flash player in freevo
I think it would be fantastic, that freevo itself could handle this... by example: I enter a movie directory with 50 movies. instead of scrolling down until selecting s* movies, it would be great I could programme "7" remote key to access to letter "s" the way the phones do to navigate through the listing directory... don´t you think? For xmame roms directory, it would be not great, but FANTASTIC!
