You'll need to set XINE_TV_TIMESHIFT_FILEMASK=/some/path/ As an aside you might get that info from the plugins help which you can run with 'freevo plugins -l' to list them all then 'freevo plugins -i video.ivtv_xine' (check the syntax of that second one). John After playing around with the environment for a few days, I finally decided to uninstall and reinstall xine...that along with the other configuration changes did the trick. I am now able to watch live TV. Looking through the documentation, I still have not found anything that references the ability to manually start recording the current show. Re: [Freevo-users] Issue with DVD-playback
When trying to play the DVD in the dvd-rom, it starts. Then it hangs a bit, I get some bits of audio and some white boxes on the screen. Anyone else with this issue? I had a similar problem and the reason was the wrong region-code of the DVD drive. The drive was set to an empty code, this means normaly that it should play every DVD, but some DVDs check this and I had to set the region-code of the drive to code 2 (Europe). The region code can normaly only be changed 5 times, I used a tool called regioncode (or similar, on Ubuntu/Debian try: aptitude search region ) Andras - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges. [Freevo-users] Possible small (100$) Freevo device
Hey Guys, I've come upon a pretty sweet tiny device at work ( http://www.norhtec.com/index.html). It costs about 100$ US and comes with 300mhz x86 processor and Wifi. I can get a VGA to S-Video cable for about 5$ US. Any chance this'll be enough for a Freevo head unit? -Justin - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges. [Freevo-users] Left and right edges clipped on TV picture
Hi, I'm using Freevo on Ubuntu Gutsy from your repositories. I want to have Freevo run at 1360x768 on my LCD TV connected over VGA. I've set up Xorg with the binary nvidia drivers and Gnome everything works fine. As soon as I load Freevo, it looks like it resizes the screen so that the left and right edges are clipped (guessing about 100px on each side). The TV still reports the proper resolution. I tried commenting out the freevo geometry line but instead of not changing the resolution it went to the default 800x600. Any suggestions? I would suspect you have a too large OSD_OVERSCAN setting in local_conf.py Andrew Berry wrote: Hi, I'm using Freevo on Ubuntu Gutsy from your repositories.
