Hi,

I have managed to get freevo working very nicely now but I have a
problem. I have just configured a G400 to use directfb with sdl and
freevo v. 1.5.4 (on gentoo) While the output is excellent from
mplayer the menu (OSD) has quite a lot of flicker. I have tried using
both PAL and NTSC in directfbrc and they give the same problems.

Does anyone have any experience with this and a method to improve the
display??? Do i need to set a mode in fb.modes?

Please could somebody help me?

Many thanks to all,

Best Wishes
Stuart

I of course only see it because all the remotes have the numbers 1,
2, 3 and buttons such as ch+...

Second you can map extra commands through freevo to control your
ADSL box by adding a entry to lircrc like the following:

Thanks, but doesn't this operate all the time? What I would like to
do is only enable this when freevo is playing video (i.e. when
mplayer or tvtime etc.) is running... Perhaps it would be possible to
have a shell script to check if this is running but it is a little
dirty?!?!?!??!

begin
   prog = irexec
   button = buttonname
   config = /path/and/name/of/command/to/run
end

here is a example to use a perl script to change my directv
satalite box:

begin
   prog = irexec
   button = channel_up
   config = /bin/directv_remote.pl ch_up
end

begin
   prog = irexec
   button = channel_down
   config = /bin/directv_remote.pl ch_down
end

[Freevo-users] lirc multiple remotes

2005-11-11 Thread Stuart Wilkins

-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-
Hash: SHA1

Dear Freevo-users,

I have been using freevo for a while now and am very impressed.
However I have found a problem with the lirc support. If i have
multiple remotes defined in /etc/lircd.conf but specify in ~/.freevo/
lircrc the name of the remote freevo will still action on any remote
which has a command by the same name (basically ignoring the remote=
section).

Secondly, I have a ADSL tv box for TV and use an ir transmitter to
control it from freevo for recording. Is there any way in freevo to
have a mapping between the freevo controller and the ir controller
for the ADSL box so that I can do more than just change channels

Thanks again for everyones work!

Best Regards,

Stuart

For Freevo CVS, please use the devel list.

I have checked out the latest CVS of freevo and everytime I try to
run freevo (either in X11 or with directfb through SDL) i get the
splashscreen, the menu appears for under 0.1s and then freevo exits.
I have attached the log below.

[...]

That's all? Nothing more? I'm missing some sort of traceback. Can you
start Freevo from a terminal and look for additional output at the
and. And does it work when you don't use pygame?

Thanks for your reply,

I have tried running freevo in a terminal window and I only get the
additional lines below

INFO handler(125): Delete AreaHandler splashscreen

There is no usual python trace-back messages. Sorry The last line
does not appear in the log.

[Freevo-users] CVS freevo crashes on load

2005-09-18 Thread Stuart WILKINS

Dear All,

First please let me thank everyone for "freevo" and apologize for
posting to both maillists but I am new to this...

I have checked out the latest CVS of freevo and everytime I try to
run freevo (either in X11 or with directfb through SDL) i get the
splashscreen, the menu appears for under 0.1s and then freevo exits.
I have attached the log below.

There appears to be no error or sometimes I have received a segfault
from pygame?

Does anyone have any clue to why this would happen?

Best Regards,

Stuart
