My radeon 7000 just simply outputs to the monitor and TV if the TV is
connected at boot. To get X working I had to specify the 'vesa' driver.

Sorry if this too vague, but really, it just worked for me.

What did you use and how did you set it up?
I've currently got no idea how to set it up under Freevo so the tv out
works, I'm not too bothered if it requires X since I've since compiled and
installed it on my Freevo Gentoo box.
Got it working using the framebuffer so it outputs to the monitor but it
tends to either freeze up or just come up with a black screen for a second
or so then goes back to the freevo menu screen.
I've got a 32MB Radeon 7000 here with two vga outs and a single s-video
out.

Thanks
