OK, it's my fault in the doc. Before ./configure of SDL you have to do an
./autogen.sh. This command recreates all Makefiles. I'll update this.

[Freevo-users] RE: dxr3 sdl patch

2003-03-28 Thread den_RDC
Well, i did everything according to the newly published howto, and it works
fine until i have to compile SDL .. I downloaded the SDL-1.2.5 sources and
applied the nokeyboard and ffmpeg-dxr3 patch, and got no error in the
patching process. But during configure, sed already complains there's no
Makefile.in in src/video/dxr3 . During the make process, make stops with the
following message.
make[3]: Entering directory `/tmp/SDL-1.2.5/src/video/dxr3'
make[3]: *** No rule to make target `all'. Stop.
I looked at the nonpatched sources, and there is no dxr3 directory in there at
all (good or bad? dunno).
If someone could help me it would be nice.

PS. about docs, a few months ago, i wrote a pretty detailed hands-on guide on
installing gentoo and configuring it for standalone freevo use (i called it
genboX), it's in dutch and needs updating (work in progress), but
nevertheless handy for belgian and dutch users maybe. It includes a forum
with some usefull tips too. http://dancevision.blub.be/genbox/

Thanks. Maybe we should start a "call-for-docs". The best docs are
from the users who tried to figure out how it works.

And back from Germany ;-)

It would be nice if you could add that doc to the WiKi. It's easy,
just click EDIT to change the page you're seeing.
