Before ./configure of SDL you have to do an ./autogen.sh. This command recreates all Makefiles. I'll update this. Well, i did everything according to the newly published howto, and it works fine until i have to compile SDL .. I downloaded the SDL-1.2.5 sources and applied the nokeyboard and ffmpeg-dxr3 patch, and got no error in the patching process. But during configure, sed already complains there's no Makefile.in in src/video/dxr3 . Greetz den_RDC PS. about docs, a few months ago, i wrote a pretty detailed hands-on guide on installing gentoo and configuring it for standalone freevo use (i called it genboX), it's in dutch and needs updating (work in progress), but nevertheless handy for belgian and dutch users maybe.
