Since Freevo 2.0 will use its own xine gui (kaa.xine) it would be nice
if someone would test / add dfb support to it.

Under Gentoo, it's a Use flag called "fusion"

But AFAIK, Freevo has no use for it.

I looks like DirectFB support is unmaintained for a long time now. The
output plugin should work with older version of DirectFB. But this
older versions won't support dfbmga.

[Freevo-users] Re: directfb with normal user

Hi,

I guess I should have mention this at that first time but... I'm using 
directfb 0.9.18 and didn't even had earlier versions installed. mplayer is 
cvs version that should include patches needed. I couldn't get 0.90 to work. 
I have read Matrox directfb howto carefully and changed some email with the 
author but I haven't been able to use freevo on directfb with normal user 
rights. And freevo is giving the error message so mplayer is not the problem 
(atleast not yet).
