Not likely!
welcome to Freevo
you have discovered one of the most difficult parts - checking Python code in
that local_conf.py

I work on a system where I change one or two things,
then from the terminal
freevo stop && freevo recordserver stop && freevo recordserver start && freevo
and when I've messed something up I am not far from my error in the
local_conf.py

Please ignore my message!

I had some double quote characters in the MPLAYER arguments (because I
have multiple DVB-T/DVB-S cards and I needed to add an argument to specify
the card # and I put double quotes around the dvbin card argument). It
didn't look wrong in the debug output but it obviously messed up the
mplayer command.

Working now!!!

[Freevo-users] TV not working via Watch TV - ok via mplayer

2009-01-09 Thread Derek C
Hi everybody,

I'm new to Freevo (but I've been using another well known Linux based PVR
for a few years now but my wife has had enough of an unstable system so
I'm trying Freevo instead).

The installation went fine with DVB-T and the RT XMLTV grabber.

If I try Watch TV -> TV Guide -> CHANNEL the screen goes black for a
second and then back to the program guide again.

BUT, at a shell prompt, if I copy & paste the mplayer command that the
Freevo log [/var/log/freevo/main-1000.log] shows the TV station plays fine
for me.

I don't see any other interesting debug log output.

Does anyone know why this would/could be happening?

thanks very much

Derek
