Re: [Freevo-users] Ubuntu Gutsy problems
Especially since source install is painless and relatively easy. Moved from 1.7.2. to 1.8.0 very easily once I decided not to try anymore to run the geole packages. Re: [Freevo-users] Ubuntu Gutsy problems
Yep - I'm seeing it to now that I actually did an aptitude update&&aptitude upgrade on that box. I went back to 1.7.3 but I'll probably install from source at some point if it doesn't get fixed soon. Re: [Freevo-users] Ubuntu Gutsy problems
Hi the problem seems to be with the packages from geole repository. I compiled freevo from the source and it runs just OK with the exception that the webserver crashes when I try to record something. I am about to send a bug report on it. :( Alvaro - Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace. The 1.7.3 package worked fine - just the 1.8.0rcSomething that's there now doesn't I had the 1.7.3 package in my /apt/cache and downgraded to that successfully. Re: [Freevo-users] Ubuntu Gutsy problems
For the sake of establishing a clear pattern, I had to install Freevo from source for the past 2 years I have used Ubuntu. I don't know why Geole can't package Freevo correctly for Ubuntu, but that's just the way it is.Source installs also keep Freevo running after any ubuntu update, like the one coming up in a few weeks. I have 2 Freevo installs on 2 computers both running Ubuntu Gutsy. One is standard definition (NTSC) using a Hauppauge 350 and the other does ATSC HD using the HVR 950 usb dongle. - Original Message From: Ariranha <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: freevo-users@lists.sourceforge.net Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2008 6:35:14 PM Subject: Re: [Freevo-users] Ubuntu Gutsy problems Same here Works fine in my other box with 7.04 2008/3/27, Thierry Goubier <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:Hi all, I had exactly the same problem last week-end (on a previously running fedora core - freevo combination, moved to a brand new Gutsy + freevo with geole): whatever I tried to do, no output, no logs, as if absolutely nothing was running... Re: [Freevo-users] Ubuntu Gutsy problems
Alvaro- how did you install it, by .debs or source? What versions did you install? There is a problem with installing the Ubuntu packages right now for 1.8. I believe it is getting fixed. check teh archives for Ubuntu 7.10 install problems. [Freevo-users] Ubuntu Gutsy problems
hi I just rebuild a freevo machine. I am running ubuntu Gutsy. I followed the instructions on freevo.sf.net and got everything install when I run freevo from a terminal window I get nothing back. I checked the $HOME/log directory and nothing there tells me why it is not running. freevo --debug does very little. Any ideas on where to look or why is behaving this way? I noticed that there is an option to run freevo as a frontend ???. I can not find any documentation on this part. Alvaro - Check out the new SourceForge.net Marketplace.
