Unfortunately it doesn't work (and never has) with DVDs :-(. Xine doesn't
allow the retrieval of the current chapter from the slave interface, I
believe VLC does but I just haven't had a chance to look into adding VLC
support for DVDs.

Ah. I'd agree with you there, a choice when the file is played again to
resume or play from start like xbmc would be better. It's not very
intuitive at the moment.
A scheduled recording while you are watching TV live with
tv.ivtv_xine_tv seemed to crash the recording server last time I tried it.

I haven't noticed that I have to say and I was using it regularly up to
Christmas. I'm just getting a new freevo box up and running now so I'll
try test it out as soon as I can.
Also, if somehow the xine temp file does not get deleted , xine
crashes. It would be easy to assure that these are deleted before
 trying to launch xine.

Can't say I've noticed that either. Let me know what version of freevo
this is though.

 Hi Dan,

What version are you testing with? I haven't used this in a while but
it certainly used to work in earlier releases, I'll test as soon as I
 can with current svn.

The last bug I mentioned was incorrect, my apologies. It appears to be
a xine crash that locks up freevo, but only on ivtv; if you manually
killall xine, freevo comes back to life. I'll try to find a trigger.
