Nah. I have only used it to stream DVD's a few years ago. It worked, but my CPU at the time [333mhz] was too slow to play the mpeg stream (no recode invovled). But I would agree. Transcoding on the fly takes a large amount of CPU time. I haven't used freevo in a while. Hopefuly there is a transcoding plugin out there by now which will transcode your recording's offline to something you can stream over the LAN (like MP4?). If this exists it should't be too hard to hack to get it to dump 20mb versions of the same recording for remote vewing (DVB-H anyone?). Thanks. Have not managed to get the http interface of VLC to play ball. I found real-time streaming might be a bit tricky as the conversion between capture quality and something one might push out of the home takes too much effort for the CPU.
