[Freevo-users] streamzap remote kernel 2.6
Has anyone gotten Streamzap remote to work with Fedora 2 or (kernel 2.6)? Lirc patch for streamzap will only support kernel 2.4. __ Do you Yahoo!? Friends. Fun. Try the all-new Yahoo! Re: [Freevo-users] streamzap remote
I am using a Stramzap with great success. I think the trick was to patch against an older version of lirc, but I don't remember exactly which. I'll try to go back though what I did this weekend and send what I can to you. -Davin - Original Message - From: Joe Stump [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: Freevo-Users [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, November 20, 2003 8:29 PM Subject: [Freevo-users] streamzap remote Anyone out there actually get this working with lirc? I've attempted patching against current cvs and two different snapshots (0.7 pre1 and pre2) and I can't get *any* of them working. Anyone got a patched/working source tree that they could tar up and send over? :) --Joe -- Joe Stump [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.joestump.net Label makers are proof God wants Sys Admins to be happy. --- This SF.net email is sponsored by: SF.net Giveback Program. Re: [Freevo-users] streamzap remote
I thought this too which is why I used a snapshot dated August (and one dated Oct.) - bot with no success *despite* the patch saying everything went well. patch -p1 ../streamzap comes back clear, but when I type make it errors out. --Joe I am using a Stramzap with great success. Re: [Freevo-users] streamzap remote
First, the simple question are you running on a custom kernel? I believe you will have to compile your own kernel for lirc to compile, at least I did on RH9 (I am no linux guru, so this may not apply to all distros). If you are all set on the kernel side, then you probably need to manually edit a file. I'll have to look more on this, but what I think I ended up doing was taking a recent version of lirc (as of a couple months ago), running the patch (which failed near the end), and then manually completing the patch by editing a lirc file to add a Streamzap entry. Anyway, I'll reconstruct my steps and let you know. -Davin - Original Message - From: Joe Stump [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, November 21, 2003 12:48 PM Subject: Re: [Freevo-users] streamzap remote I thought this too which is why I used a snapshot dated August (and one dated Oct.) - bot with no success *despite* the patch saying everything went well. patch -p1 ../streamzap comes back clear, but when I type make it errors out. --Joe I am using a Stramzap with great success. Re: [Freevo-users] streamzap remote
These are my steps 1.) Path (everything returns OK here) 2.) ./setup.sh (select streamzap driver) 3.) Select Exit Run Configure 4.) make It failes on make ... doh. I'm at work no - I'll send more detailed error messages later tonight. Thanks for the help! --Joe You're doing a ./configure first yeah? What messages is it giving when it fails? -Chris On Fri, 21 Nov 2003 12:48:01 -0500 (EST), Joe Stump [EMAIL PROTECTED] said: I thought this too which is why I used a snapshot dated August (and one dated Oct.) - bot with no success *despite* the patch saying everything went well. patch -p1 ../streamzap comes back clear, but when I type make it errors out. --Joe I am using a Stramzap with great success.
