Re: [FRIAM] An Ecology of Mind
Maybe connects, something which somehow connects psychology with neuroscience. Someone said the only constructive theory connecting neuroscience and psychology will arise from the study of software (cs.yale.edu/quotes.html). I think a useful theory of this kind has more in common with ecology or sociology: it must describe complex adaptive systems which consist of many elements - systems that are able to adjust and adapt themselves. -J. - Original Message - From: Alfredo Covaleda To: The Friday Morning Applied Complexity Coffee Group Sent: Friday, April 29, 2011 12:08 AM Subject: Re: [FRIAM] An Ecology of Mind extends Psychology or implements Psychology FRIAM Applied Complexity Group listserv Meets Fridays 9a-11:30 at cafe at St. John's College lectures, archives, unsubscribe, maps at http://www.friam.org
[FRIAM] An Ecology of Mind
Do you think that Bateson's idea of an Ecology of Mind and Minsky's idea of a Society of Mind have something in common? Are both Ecology and Sociology useful to extend Psychology? see http://www6.ufrgs.br/horizon/files/teoria2/bateson.pdf or http://books.google.com/books?id=Wfe2t_qzaHEC -J.
