Wow, you have better masks than I do.

My brown bandana rides my neck everytime I leave home "just in case" and I have
a box of surgical-styles in my vehicle as well as (sometimes) a hand-sewn
native-american-themed "fancy" one! As it gets colder, it is a relief
(sometimes) to mask-up when I exit my vehicle for a store... not so much once I
get inside (as overheating season begins).

I'm surprised that designer masks didn't become a big thing sooner than it did.
Though I remember imagining it was a pretty short-term (Months?) thing. i'm
sure there is more creativity out there than I am aware of. Mary's grandson
(twin) is big into his masks. they were <4 when this started and he often
wants to keep his on once he gets home. To him it is (mostly) just apparel?
Matches his underoos (which he prefers to wear on the outside) methinks.

I have this vague memory of being in public without my bandana "up" early this
summer... strange times, no?

I know, right? Now, they're saying that we vaccinated people are the problem,
not the solution:

https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2021/12/fully-vaccinated-omicron-infections/620953/

Pffft. Renee' and her colleagues are swamped and burnt out, dropping like
flies. But I'll be damned if I'm gonna give up ma beer lunch just because some
unvaccinated people will go to the hospital or die. Some good news, though:

"Peterson’s return was not a victory for ‘free speech’ as Dr Orr and his

what one of them dubbed “the Thiel network” to use free speech as a cover to
wage war on the perceived liberal threat to heartfelt theological beliefs, and

[FRIAM] arg! the attack of the robo-diallers

2013-10-30 Thread Gillian Densmore
I'm hopping someone has some ideas of how to solve a conundrum. At
somepoint this week the universe has decided what I clearly neaded were
robodialers. The seem to have a infinite number of 1800 numbers to call
from. The vary from: saying in a monotone robotic voice: this is a very
important call about that evil obmacare To we at (INSERT FANCY CHARITY NAME
HERE) insist on reminding you about (INSERT PROBLEM HERE). I don't think
obama care is evil. I want it to have a chance.

No matter how many times I've tride to block out those 1800 dialers. There
clever. And anoying system worms around it. I'll caveat: My phone seems to
have a basic way to manually not ring for specific telephone numbers.

I don't understand the mentality. I'm sure there's a good psychology paper
being written about it. My immediate problem is what the smart people on
the FRIAM list suggest to address the issue of these rude 1800 dialing
thingys.
