Re: [Full-disclosure] In Sony's Defense Over Virus Writers

2005-11-14 Thread Iadnah

I don't usually even say anything on this list, I just read for the most part, and I have to say n3td3v seems to be one of the singularly most annoying individuals I have ever seen anywhere on the internet. His messages are a waste of space in my inbox, and I'm sure other people feel the same way. The internet's become full of this sort of person, and as a result there are few decent sources of information and community anymore.

Also, going back a bit to something he talked about before, what is all this talk about "evil hackers" anyway? That's like saying an artist is evil because the art they make upsets people. Some might argue with me there, which is fine, but think about it. Artists of all sorts get blamed all the time for things people do after witnessing/experiencing/whatever their artwork. Anyway, not to bring up the argument of whether or not hacking is art, just throwing in my own troll food.

Vulnwatch and Vulndiscuss (www.vulnwatch.org) is a good alternative
too. Very low traffic, only posts that matter and "fresh vulns" hit
there as quick even sometimes quicker than this list plus you don't
have to sort through all the bullshit.

n3td3v,

You need to relax and let this go away. Making flippant statements like this:

That is hardly what they have done. They simply provided you a
platform to make yourself look stupid. Your combative and off topic
self promoting replies has done most of the hard work.

Relax, ban the thread, sleep on it, and move on. Continuing with this
is only going to make it much more difficult for people to listen to
you later.

I will personally write a worm script based on "whistles" and give you
full credit for your FD comments. Yeah Symantec will love that.. more
anti virii sig's for them to push out to the consumer.

Online media journalists can take note. The likes of Robert Lemos and
Joris Evers... yeah give CNET / Security Focus something to write
about.

All I did was publish a paper on trends for "Hackers Today" and all
people have down is make me look small and stupid.
