No, because seemingly one must manually update bin/fvwm-config.in manually
to set this flag which is always hard-coded to "no".

I am not about to release an update to fix this triviality.  What do you
consider --is-stable useful for in this context?

I agree this is pretty trivial. It would be nice if the change was done
in the 2.6 branch so that 2.6.2 contains the fix. Failing that, remove
the option.

Not much, to be honest. I started playing with fvwm after seeing the
release announcement on LWN and spotted this mistake but my ability to
distinguish between odd and even numbers allowed me to recognise 2.6.0
as being stable. :-)
