Folks, enough bickering on the list about lemlists.com. Here are the
 simple facts:

lemlists.com is the domain registered by Low End Mac to host all of our
email lists. This is a service offered by Low End Mac. Ryan Coleman runs
the ISP and the servers and sets up the email accounts, but this is a
 Low
 End Mac project.

Our ultimate goal is to move all 30-some email lists from Maclaunch.com
to lemlists.com, thereby eliminating the incessant subscription
confirmations, rude nice try spammer messages, and other issues we've
 run into over the years.

Thank you very much Byron.

I do have a question for the people of the list:

What features would you like? These services will likely be
additional charges, but I would like to know what you would be
interested in.

Please don't mail this to the list, instead send to [EMAIL PROTECTED].

Thank you very much.

(no, this is not a plug, but a request for your thoughts)

Screw problem

2002-07-28 Thread Ng Heok Hee

A big thank you to all who responded to my list. I tried the
needle-nosed pliers as suggested by Ryan and it worked (I'll keep the
other solutions in mind in case this happens again, though).
Now, does anyone know where I can get a replacement screw?

Wallstreet and Macally USB card

2002-07-28 Thread Ng Heok Hee

Hi Listers,

My friend has a Series I Wallstreet with a Macally USB card.
After installing OS 9.2.2, the Wallstreet has stopped recognizing the
card (it was working fine in OS 8.6). Is this a firmware problem and is
there any way of fixing this?

Check with PowerBook Parts http://www.pbparts.com/. They may not want to
sell them to you unless you order for a minimum amount, but other than that,
I don't know where you could find those specific screws...

There is an update that you have to install. Don't remember the name, but
check the download section on the Apple's web site. It's something about
CardBus...

Yeah, it's the least-damaging option, and I always consider that
first (then I find a replacement screw at a home depot or other
hardware store).

I would take the screw in and tell them you need an exact duplicate
in everything but the head type (T, Hex, Phillips, Standard, etc).

I have done a lot of work on powerbooks out of warranty that I have a
solution for almost every problem. My powerbook 5300 (after the RMA
issue was fixed) was taken apart about 30 times in the next two
years. I eventually sold it off at the same price in 2002 that I paid
for it in 1999. Of course, I had upgraded the display to Active
Matrix, put in a ethernet/video card, second battery, new trackpad,
new power adapter... I put about $300 into it in 3 months to sell it
for $350.
