You can install Tiger without jumping through any special hoops on
any machine with built-in firewire ports. Plus the necessary RAM, etc.

Wireless on a Wallstreet/1400 with OS 9 problems...

2005-05-03 Thread Pacer
Fellow PowerBook-philes,
I am attempting to get an Orinoco wireless card working on one of my
Wallstreets and my 1400, both of which run OS 9 and OS 8.6.

The problem so far: It will not detect my Linksys access point using
WPA encryption.

I am wondering is this is because I am using WPA instead of WEP
encryption. I can not figure out if there are WPA setting options on
the card's software.

Has anyone else run across this problem?
Sincerely,
Pacer the Loon

This is more of an issue with your car's player than the CDRW drive.
How well do they play back on your computer?

What program are you using to burn the CD's?
Data disks seem to be reliable. The guts are a LiteOn mechanism that

I had a LiteOn 48-16-48 cdrw that was quite reliable in my 7600, then

Well, a friend of mine just purchased, and is very happy with, the
LaCie external DVD+-RW dual side. I've had good experiences with
their products as well.

Ibook DVD question

2005-05-03 Thread Dean
I just got a combo drive from a friends newer Ibook that died
and I'd like to install it in my Ibook.
I have an earlier model 500 MHz Dual USB and was wondering,.
did all of them have the DVD decoder on the motherboard, or
just the DVD drive equipped models.
Thanks
Dean

bye bye and bless you all

2005-05-03 Thread Mikael Byström

As my titanium related questions seem uninteresting for the rest of you,
maybe you own different machines, and I'm kinda tired only being able to
really help wallstreet owners, I'm unsubscribing.

I'm would like to thank you all for any info you shared and advice given
or received. I also specifically want to thank Bob, Dan K, Andrew
Kershaw, Steve Sharpe, David Lesher, Ken, Nils, dan_A, Tim Hodgson, Ben
Dyer, walt, Richard Clark, Steve Fuller, Bruce Johnson, rama and Laurent
for your input and advice. Thanks.

I do once in while. I rarely get a response, like as if my questions are
uninteresting or just too hard to answer. I find them quite basic and
important for any owner if similar hardware. But I guess my problems are
uninteresting then.

OK, so I probably am on the wrong list. I could accept all the software
stuff if hardware questions weren't ignored so often. Maybe my titanium
is too new for being regarded low-end? I'm not sure. Maybe I should find
a titanium only list somewhere. Or start one,

My general point was that specific email account support shouldn't be one
of the functions of this list. General help for people that have PC-
centric ISP's or whatever are of course on topic, but even better help
can be given in the discussion group for the specific email client one
uses. There email is always more or less on topic. PowerMail discussions
is one great place.

Ok, I getting offtopic here. My apologies.

My advice to get in touch with the email support for the specific service
was sound and should be the first step for anyone in a similar situation.
