What laptop is it?
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hi Folks, Can anyone identify this laptop I please? Its a G3 PowerBook, one that looks like a Pismo, but its not, its much thicker than a Pismo. It has a black keyboard, and its specs are 233MHz, 2Gb HD, 32Mb RAM, although I have upgraded it to 256Mb. I am guessing its a Lombard, but I just want to check. I need to know as I am looking for a few parts for it. I need the two rubber stoppers at the top of the inside of the screen, a new outer LCD case and a CD-ROM or DVD drive - so if anyone has any spare in the UK, let me know! Re: What laptop is it?
It's a wallstreet. But you can tell if it's a I or II by going to system profiler and finding out if it has cache memory or not. The original wallstreets had a 233MHz model with no cahce, the Wallstreet II has a 233MHz model with cache. The other difference between the 2 WS's is that the original had a Rage LT chip and the second has a Rage LT Pro chip for video, also found in system profiler. I just got a box full of parts and after some emailing to this list I found out the major differences between the two models. Wallstreet upgrades
I finally got one of my powerbooks working. I traded an older iMac for a box of powerbooks and parts in unknown condition. I managed to get this out of it so far: Wallstreet rev I 250MHz 98MB 2GB 14 2MB VRAM 2 working batteries, testing a 3rd Working CD-ROM I've drawn up a few plans for it. First it's going to get a new paint job, orange with black trim :) But if I'm going to make it look pretty I need to make it faster. I have enough parts for maybe 2 more Wallstreet 2's if I can get CPU's for them. I want to get some other upgrades that would cross over between the two. Specifically hard drive, ram, wireless card, CPU, and USB. I have an idea of what to get but don't know where to start. Any suggestions on what parts to get, where to look, etc would be great. I'm looking for cheap stuff! Thanks for all the help! Mike Kauspedas Mindaugas Save Our LAN! www.coloradogameralliance.com -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... PC Card SCSI Adaptor for Tiger
Hello, I need to connect a SCSI MO (Magneto Optical) drive to my Powerbook, and I'm wondering what would be a good PC Card that works with Tiger. I want a PC Card instead of a USB adaptor because I'd like to share it with a few older laptops. So far, I've only found the Adaptec SlimSCSI, are there any others? How is it's support for Tiger? Need opinions on how to sell
After years of working my way up through used powerbooks, I'm finally settled into a G4 15 al and a Pismo backup. I still have all the Lombards and even a 3400 I've used along the way and would like opinions on whether to part them out on eBay or just say a box of Lombards (probably three or more) for parts. One worked fine except for a screen that would scramble. I don't remember about the others but I must have moved along for a reason. All are 400s except for one 333. They all have their RAM and everything else. I never took anything out except hard drives, just moved on to the next one. I'd like to get the most out of them to pay for the newest ones. Suggestions?
