Re: Portable CDRW drive?

Try any Firewire CD-RW drive. You can find them at almost any computer retailer. In
fact, I have a 32x burner for sale for $50 plus shipping.

Re: updates for OS X 10.2

2003-10-11 Thread John Gaskell
You have two options: one, email me your address, or two, go to either
an Apple Store or a CompUSA and get an update disc.

Does anyone possess or know of the existence of a CD of updates for
OS X 10.2 that I could buy? My problem is an inordinately slow
downloading setup. Thanks much. Victor

Re: AC Adapter for PB G4?

I know the Apple Store and CompUSA carry a airline/auto/ac adapter that
fits almost any computer/pda/cellphone that sells for around $100USD. I
believe it is called the iJuice. Hope that helps!

Re: disappointing tiBook wireless

2003-07-23 Thread John Gaskell
Try this to see if it helps: Take out your battery and push on the wall
closest to the outside edge of your TiBook. That is where one antennae
is and is known to come "dislodged" sometimes. Push on it real good and
reconnect your battery and start it up. That should help. I get a good
50 to 60 feet with 3 to 4 bars at the coffee shop I hang out at and get
2 bars over a 100 feet away from the WAP down at campus.

The 12" can actually accept a 1024mb (1 gb) RAM card for a total of
1152mb of RAM. That card will cost you around $800 USD, though.

Re: PB12" review

2003-03-04 Thread John Gaskell
Go with the iBook. The lack of Altivec will be made up by the 400mhz
speed bump. The system busses are the same, but with a 512 L2 cache in
the iBook, 24mb more VRAM (32mb total) which will enable QuartzExtreme.
Good luck!

Re: Network printing

2003-02-18 Thread John Gaskell
You may need to load a generic laserjet driver for that printer. Look
for available drivers/extensions/whatever in the chooser menu, and play
with it to find the one that works.

Re: iMac to iBook

2003-02-03 Thread John Gaskell
Use target-disk mode to transfer the files. Hold down "T" on boot-up
and it will be seen as an external firewire drive. You can then
transfer files through firewire.

Good luck!
