PIM for OS 9 and X?

2004-03-29 Thread Owen Heatwole
Hello all,

Searching for a PIM (personal information manager) for both OS 9 (G3 Pismo
Powerbook) and OS X (G4 desktop).

Which PIM do you recommend? Have heard of Personal Organizer by Chronos; any
feedback?

Thanks in advance,
Owen

Backup options?

2003-11-10 Thread Owen Heatwole
I need to backup a G3 Pismo PowerBook (5 GB on hard drive, USB) and a G4
desktop (11 GB on hard drive, USB and Firewire). They are networked, so can
back up individually or from either. Looking for inexpensive and efficient
options, considering the external hard drive option; a LaCie Pocketdrive 40
GB at $219, or 60 GB at $329. Is this a good option, or other
recommendations, please?

Thanks in advance, Owen

PIM recommendations for OS X and 9.2?

2003-09-05 Thread Owen Heatwole
Hello from a long-time Mac user; had the first, now on my 12th.

I need a personal information manager that runs on both OS 9.2 and X (my old
CAT IV won't run on OS X). Mostly need an account info database that
integrates with templates for producing letters, envelopes, faxes, also a
calendar. I don't need activity tracking and forecasting, but it's okay if
in the package.

Recommendations, please?

Re: How much play in a Pismo clutch?

2003-07-31 Thread Owen Heatwole
I just noticed that my Pismo has about 1/2 of play in the LCD hinge (measured
at the free edge of the display). Is this about normal?

My Pismo came with 1/2 of LCD hinge free edge play, you're okay.

BTW: I'm told that Iraq Freedom journalists found the Pismo most faithful,
kept running when dust, dirt and extreme conditions shut the other laptops
down. I'm on my 12th Mac with more than 100 trips overseas, my Pismo with OS
9.2 the most reliable.

Need G3 Pismo case part, please?

2003-06-09 Thread Owen Heatwole
Please help, I need a part for my G3 Pismo Powerbook (with bronze keyboard).
The right side battery/CD drive bay has a small door (1 1/4 inch by 5/8
inch) to the rear that folds in when the CD drive is inserted. Mine broke,
will pay good money for a replacement (Apple wants to sell me a complete
case!). Maybe other G3's will fit mine?

Where can I find? Please response to my e-mail address:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]

Thanks in advance,
Owen Heatwole
