Klear Screen is used by a number of knowledgeable portable owners.
Others swear that nothing beats plain old water and a lint-free cloth.

But the reason I prefer Klear Screen is two fold: 1.) It contains an
anti-static coating that helps reduce the dust and dirt attraction
that is usually present on computer screens. 2.) It also applies a
polymer coating that helps protect the screen from minor scratches. I
recommend their cleaning cloths as well.

Klear Screen was recommended by Apple at one time for cleaning
PowerBook screens. I'm not sure if that has changed or not.

Whatever you use, apply the liquid to the cloth -- not directly on
the screen -- to prevent it from running down between the screen and
 the computer casing.

Pismo slow wake-up

2004-05-14 Thread Powerbook
For some reason my Pismo has become very slow in waking up from sleep. The screen
somes on right away but it takes about 40-60 seconds before I can actually start using
it, KB and mouse don't respond before that. It's a pretty clean system, 10.3.3. with
all the updates, recent install and no other drivers or software installed.

Would appreciate any suggestions on where to look.

Marc

Re: Pismo slow wake-up

2004-05-14 Thread Powerbook
Well, actually I meant the internal KB and the trackpad. So the only peripheral would
be the (also internal) dvd-player. No difference if I remove that, by the way. I
removed the Airport-card also, still the same.

How many peripherals did you have attach, in addition to the mouse and
keyboard that you mention in your message?

Can't start Classic

2003-02-18 Thread Powerbook
When I try to start Classic (9.1) when I use OS X 1.5 I get this message:

Insufficient priviliges to start /system/library/coreservices (or
similar, it's in Dutch)

Booting from 9.1 works fine. I can't find this error on the
support-site. Anyone have any suggestions?
