Broadband internet is the electricity of the 21st century -- and the
rest of the world is poised to leave America in the dark.
This is what I think of as a "well, duh" article. It's a good rehash
of a lot of things that have been published all over during the past
year or two.
Here in the US we're taking positive action to ensure that we become
the new third world. We're doing this with many infrastructures /
institutions, not just the telecom networks.
In the South Jersey / Philly area, I can proudly say I've seen
Verizon and Comcast beat each other bloody - but then take time-out
to work together to crush encroaching 3rd parties, by using quietly
funded "Grass Roots Efforts". They even make their customers pay for
all these "good american business practices" with rate hikes. Way to
go! (Yes, I'm a Verizon and Comcast stockholder).
Ain't the free market grand?
