Hmm, this I haven't thought about. I rearranged it. I'll keep it like
that and get back to the list on if it helped or not. Thanks for the tip.

Trying to send a fax?
Nope, I haven't even a fax printer installed. I think this is needed.
Also I see no fax que.

I suppose some application registration mechanism could have gone
haywire, but I'm not sure which it could be. I only installed one new app
during the last month.

Ok. This is curious.
Wouldn't calls for the net get logged somewhere? I'm not sure where
actually.
If you have ppp logging enabled it's in /var/logs/ppp.log, iirc.

They must succed when I'm on steady connection, as there is no
LS dialogs so I think whatever calls there are (if that is the reason),
they must be within the Little Snitch Rules I have.
There is also the possibility that there is no call, but a setting that
keep telling my machine to use the modem. The silence online is an
indication of that there are calls, but when I'm online I keep the
modem
turned off in Network, because Safari and other apps for some reason
goes
there instead of going to the only live connection, so it's possible
whatever is calling only wants to use the modem.

CCLEngine attempts net connection every hour

2005-03-26 Thread Mikael Byström
Every hour at h:13 I get an attempt to connect to the net. I see this in
the log:
/usr/libexec/CCLEngine: Version 2.0
 /usr/libexec/CCLEngine: Dialing [ISPno]

What's CCLEngine? Is it just the modem control commands. If so, any
suggestions for evaluating what process that initiates the connection? No
internet apps was running at the time of the two last connection attempts.

modem calling problem though.

Both NTP and software update have other settings, so they seem unlikely
contenders.
