Getting a Dell WLAN PC Card to work in Panther

2004-09-24 Thread Kenneth Vann
You can get cards that have native Airport Support in OSX.

Check out my web page on FAQ for Wireless (Bottom of Page for OS X)

Also a new listing from Asante (not on page yet) is here
http://www.asante.com/products/adapters/AL5403-XG/index.html

Asante is offering a $10.00 rebate. Check their site.

Save your Dell for use with the Clasic OS.

Getting a Dell WLAN PC Card to work in Panther

2004-09-23 Thread Nils Mueller-Scheessel
Hi all,
I am trying to get a Dell TrueMobile 1150 Series 11Mbps Wireless LAN
Adapter to work in my G3 Powerbook (Wallstreet 250 MHz), running Mac
OS 10.3.5. The PC-card used to work with the open source
WirelessDriver in Jaguar. In Panther, however, I do not get any
signal strength. The card is recognized by the system, and the
activity lights on the card are on, but I am not able to connect to
the nearby base station. The same happens with the IOXperts driver.
Has anybody got such a non-airport card to work in Panther?

Many thanks in advance,
 Nils
