They are only obligated to fix it and that doesn't mean you get a new part
if they can fix the old one.

Trackpad.. and Applecare.

2004-03-28 Thread Jason Cornfeld
Okay guys, heres another one. I have a 14 inch G3 600 MHZ Ibook, 60 Gig
HDD. CDRW/DVD 640 Mb of ram. ok, i took my iBook into an Apple
Authorized Service Center. I was Having Track Pad Problems. So They
were supposed to Replace the Upper half of the Machine, the Grey Bezel
with the Trackpad in it. I thought they had because when i got it back
it had sticky plastic sheeting over it, like when stuff is new and you
have to take it off. and the trackpad is working fine. But i have a
suspicion that they just must have done something to it? as I didnt
notice before that the trackpad had the usual wear spot in the middle
of it. (my old one did by the way) but i thought i was getting a new
one. but i was cleaning my iBook today, and noticed a wear spot on the
trackpad. I have only had it back from the shop about a month and dont
uset it intensively. so. Do you think i got Ripped off? sure it was
under warranty but i was expecting a new part. sorry to rant, i just
got to wondering today...

Cheers!
