Hello,
My DVD player, like most other new ones, will play VCD disks.
These are simple CD-R's that have MPEG-1 format videos on them.
I'm getting frustrated here, because iMovie3 will only export to
MPEG-4 format. This may be off topic, but this list provides me
with peeps who are in the know and might be able to provide a
better solution to this problem. I need to export several home
movies into MPEG-1 video. No, I don't want or need a DVD
burner. . .as that's an entirely different cup of tea. Maybe third
party software? Thanks for any input. . .
Yeah, there's a bunch of software out there for doing this. FFmpegX
does this, you'll have to install some other stuff, iirc to author
the VCD, but I think Sizzle (see version Tracker for that) will work.
The open source stuff is a little fiddly. Toast will make VCD's, and
QT Pro will do the encoding necessary. (Toast might, too, I don't know)
