Re: USB to ethernet
Does anyone know if there is a Mac compatible (Mac OSX) usb-ethernet adapter that would work with a usb printer. The idea is to hook the printer to the ethernet port of the D-Link wireless router to use with our wireless notebooks. I can use a wireless usb print server, but I want to investigate a more economical solution (if there is one). Thanks for all the help in advance. This will most likely not work; the problem is that the USB printer will not likely 'talk' ethernet. Wayne, what you are looking for is a USB-Ethernet Print Server. I have one (actually it's a USB-802.11 Wireless Print Server) and it uses a built-in webserver to be configured. Works like a champ. D-Link makes them, so does HP and a couple of others. Check to make sure that your USB print server is compatible. They run around $75-80. Phil Burk ___ Systems Support Technician Wiley Publishing, Inc.
