Re: USB2 for Pismo - use a PCI Card?
Hello List, Is there a PCI Card out there for a USB2 port that works with a Pismo? Are there any other options for adding USB2 to a Pismo? Thanks, Barry Barry, I just use a standard PCMCIA card adapter which I acquired on eBay for under $20.00. It works great with my iPod 30 gig video. (I'm assuming that's what you want it for). I'm running 10.3.9 on my Pismo and 1 gig RAM. Zoltan The Computer Doctor -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... A Pismo has a single CardBus / PC Card (PCMCIA) slot, no PCI. Yes you can put a CardBus USB 2.0 card in there. But it will only work at USB 2.0 speed under OS X. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway -- G-Books is sponsored by http://lowendmac.com/ and... Re: USB2 for Pismo - use a PCI Card?
The easiest method for either a Pismo or Lombard is to use a cardbus adapter, as far as I know. I'm sure someone else knows which models work best, but as far as the basics go, the cardbus is the way to go.
