Hi Frank, Yes, I am using .Mac but you do not have to have a .Mac account to publish the pages you create in iWeb. You can just publish them to a folder and then upload them to any server you wish. And this might actually be the preferred method even if you do have .Mac because uploads to .Mac are excruciatingly slow and there is a great deal of talk on the Apple discussion site about timeout errors - of which I've had more than my share. iWeb is a nifty program but like any version 1, it has its issues.
