Long time ago in a state far away, I was working at the computer center at college. One of the freshmen programming classes used our batch machine. The professor gave them a sample JCL block to put around their card decks, that started with: //JOB the professor's name At the bottom of the instructions, it said to replace her name with theirs. But we all know that students can't read! uh oh. Picture it... The night before the first assignment is due. The student area of the computer center is *crowded* with kids hyped on coffee and Jolt. The flood of decks is so big, the batch machine is falling farther and farther behind. Turnaround is over an hour. We take a rack of cards into the machine room and run them. An hour+ later, we come out with the cards and box or three of printout, rip'n'sort 'em, then give the whole mess to a runner to take the 'em up to the professor's office -- because every job had her name on it!
