What do your children do! However, if you type in the ip address of your router into the address bar of a browser you will be taken to the router’s set up page (after being prompted for a user name and password - usually “admin” for user name and “password” or “admin” for password, without the quotes.) Somewhere on the left sidebar there will be a “Diagnostics” section. Click on this and you should find reboot or restart router at the bottom of this page. Once booted, you'll have to click through a few screens until a menu bar appears at the top. Go up there and find the reset password utility. Once you've changed either or both passwords (Do not give Root a password!), close the utility This won't however change your Keychain password which will remain as it was. If you can't remember it the only option is then to create a new keychain. FYI: You don't have to enter an actual password. I have a number of clients, including some schools, that leave the two password fields blank (they hit Enter/Return after each line) This is ok if you don't use Terminal as sudo, IIRC, won't accept a blank password. DC in board compatibility...
Sorry, I forgot the subject! Hi, I did post this on the G Book list but no one has responded yet. There is a some urgency about it so I thought I¹d post the same question here. Would a G4 iBook DC in board be compatible with a 12² G4 PowerBook i.e. could I use the DC in board from a G4 iBook in a 12² PowerBook? Re: PM G5 webcam
Anyone have any suggestions for a webcam for my PM G5? I'm running OSX 10.5.6. I wanted an iSight, but ebay seems to be selling them for triple their original price. I have heard that USB 2.0 cams work now with OS X. I wanted it for video chatting with family in the U.S. Thanks in advance! I use an aGent web cam. They're an Australian company and these are really good quality web cams. I have a version 2 and they're now up to version 4. Here's an ebay link for one http://tinyurl.com/cbwtxb And their home page http://agent.liquiddigital.com.au/ Andy --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs. Re: Recent Documents on OS10.4?
Hiyas! Thinking maybe 10.4 can pop up a Finder window with my most recently worked on documents so I'm not navigating all over creation first thing in the morning while sipping first coffee? Re: What wi-fi cards will fit a G4 MDD?
I have an Airport Extreme card in my MDD. Jeff You must have a FW800 G4 MDD, the others only support original Airport cards. So if you want greater range/ more bandwidth you have to go the USB or PCI route. Re: Finder Windows Jump to the Front
Two members of our user group have similar problems. One with a DP G5, the other with an iMac, both running Tiger 10.4.11. A finder window becomes the active window automatically. Both have tried deleting the Finder preferences and repairing permissions. Please advise. Look in the system logs. Is the Finder repeatedly crashing? Do you have Stuffit Deluxe installed? Router problem?
A Macbook connects happily via airport through a netgear router/modem but a G4 desktop connected via ethernet gets a self assigned ip address connected to the the same router. If I connect the macbook or another computer using the same ethernet cable to the same router, they connect happily. All configurations are using DHCP. Is this likely to be the ethernet port on the G4 faulty or the system on the G4 messed up? Or something else? Renewing the DHCP lease on the G4 doesn¹t resolve the problem. Both Macs running 10.4.11. What should I try next?
