Re: G5 and lack of ipod connection

2012-04-25 Thread JohnV

this is a 2007 (?) ipod touch.

I've been through the demise (and hopefull ressurection) of the G5
2.3 dual and shuffling/reinstalling all manner of production video
and audio programs that HAD been a great set of tools on an intel
imac and the G5 in the studio. In all that I woulda SWORN I had the
thing talking to the 2.3 G5... but I could be misremembering. Maybe I
need to migrate the whole iTunes thing back over to the iMac... whole
collection is on an extrernal drive anyway. not sure how to do that
right tho...

Should always charge even if you have the wrong iTunes and it can't
been seen, so if it doesn't charge, you've got some type of hardware
issue with either the cable, the USB, or the iPod.

It's a USB issue on the G5.

Try rebooting.

Your HDs are probably self-powered, so it's probable the power for the
onboard USB ports is dead? If the onboard USB power is dead, it could
be limited to the USB ports, or could be part of a power supply issue.
