Unable to enter password in Terminal

2014-01-27 Thread Zaphod
I tried to perform the terminal shutdown listed earlier, but after terminal
asked me for my password, the cursor didn't move. I couldn't enter my
password. I don't know what I may be doing wrong, or what is wrong with my
settings, prefs have not been altered from default. Perplexing. Does anyone
have any suggestions that might help?

Thanks
Fred
