start up items

2011-11-09 Thread Baldassare Guzzo

PM G4 933 10.5.8. In my start up items list there are two items:
1) HP IO (HP IO Monitor)
2) HP Trap Monitor.

I use a HP Photosmart printer via PCI USB. What are these two items
and are they needed? Thanks.

They're HP's Little CPU Time Stealers(TM) :-) the IO monitor will tell you if
your orinter isn't properly communicating, andthe other catchers errors so they
can pop up little warnings you're out of ink!

You should be able to remove them without consequence. After all you can tell
when it's not printing by the distinct lack of printing activity, and those
printers do everything but hop around like Luxo Jr. when they're out of ink,
all on their own.

Those help keep the full options of the printer running, scan copy
ect..especially if you run fast user switching.
