Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 7 Private: No Submitted By: Itsnot Me (zerwasz) Assigned to: Mark Doliner (thekingant) Summary: Away messages are not shown (SIM, Trilian and perhaps other) Initial Comment: The problem is, that i can't see the away- N/A- etc. messages of people using the SIM or Trillian Client. I have this problem in every version since something 0.x. -- Comment By: DellaM0rte (dellam0rte) Date: 2007-03-03 12:12 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1477605 Originator: NO I'm using gaim beta 6 and I still cannot see any trillian away message. This bug is really terrible and for many people (I know) the main reason to use not gaim for IM. Is there anyone working at this problem or do I just have to look for another IM? -- Comment By: Itsnot Me (zerwasz) Date: 2006-08-29 12:07 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=938784 the-fallen: Could be so, but i opened this bug report before more than one year now. And what you have written: For people with the original ICQ client, i can read their away messages. I really don't know why this problem seems to be unsolvable. Or perhaps the Gaim-developer simply have too less time for this :( -- Comment By: the-fallen (the-fallen) Date: 2006-08-24 19:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1583203 Maybe this bug should be marked as a duplicate of bug #1469313 or vise versum...? Regards -- Comment By: TopasPV (topaspv) Date: 2005-08-12 00:53 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1322595 I am also suffering from this bug and I do think of using another client than Gaim... Unfortunately there is no real alternative :-( -- Comment By: Janis Blechert (ja-el) Date: 2005-08-12 00:50 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=739956 just to make it clear, it would be nice to have this bug fixed. -- Comment By: Itsnot Me (zerwasz) Date: 2005-07-22 22:08 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=938784 too sad, nobody is willing to do this. I think, for many people it is a reason to not use gaim (beside to the status setting problems) -- Comment By: Itsnot Me (zerwasz) Date: 2005-06-02 22:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=938784 the same is with the miranda client. it can't view the message of gaim and gaim doesn't display away messages of miranda. -- Comment By: Itsnot Me (zerwasz) Date: 2005-04-13 20:00 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=938784 It's with ICQ, yes. -- Comment By: Mark Doliner (thekingant) Date: 2005-04-12 02:35 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=20979 This is with ICQ, I guess? -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=100235aid=1179756group_id=235 - Take Surveys. Category: solaris Group: v1.3.0 Status: Closed Resolution: Out of Date Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: KCB (kcbraunschweig) Assigned to: Ethan Blanton (eblanton) Summary: excessive memory usage Initial Comment: I'm wondering if there are memory leaks resurfacing as what happened back in v0.74 since I often look at noticed that gaim (previously 0.82.1 and now 1.3.0) is using 100mb or more of memory. As in 0.74, this seems to be accelerated by turning on sort buddy list by log size although 1.3.0 seems not to be able to actually accomplish this task regardless. I'm currently running 1.3.0 on solaris 8 and 9 compiled locally with gcc 3.3.2. Not sure what other info I can provide, let me know, Ill be glad to help. -- Comment By: Ethan Blanton (eblanton) Date: 2007-03-03 12:01 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=298616 Originator: NO I'm going to go ahead and close this ... I could never reproduce it, and I'm wondering now if it might have been a plugin problem (I know OTR or gaim-encryption, one, leaked huge amounts of memory at about that time). In any case, that's a long time ago. ;-) Resubmit if you still have problems.
