Summary: crashes when trying to view jabber (google talk) profile

Initial Comment:
Latests SVN as of posting. Right clicking on a jabber user and trying to view
their profile causes gaim to crash.

Summary: crash when adding an account

Initial Comment:
Hi everyone,

I've been having this problem with gaim since I started using portage to
install the beta6. Prior, I was using beta2 i think, which i downloaded built
the old fashioned way, and I never had any problems with beta2.

Now, when I select accounts - Add / Edit - Add, gaim crashes instantly.

I wish I had more debug output to provide, but this following two are all that
I could come up with. I even attempted to reinstall mono, since that appeared
to be a cause of the problem.

I'm using gaim on an i686 laptop running gentoo 2006.1

Regards,

~/Chris

Initial Comment:
When gaim status says away, it will not go automatically back to available when
i move the mouse or do anything else on my computer, i have to manually change
it back to available and then it will go back to away after 5mins of so called
inactivity

Yea it does in a way, it shows there is a problem with the away feature, i
mean my gaim was set to change status to away if there is no activity for 5
mins, but even when i was using my computer it would automaticly change it
to away no matter what and i can set it back to available and 5mins later
it would change it back, so i had to disable the automatic away, so there
must be a bug.

H. A couple of weeks ago, it was perpetually away for me, even if i
manually changed it. I couldn't get it to say anything but away. Funny
thing was, it showed to ME that it was available, but to others that I was
away. I never said or did anything about it, and it went away in a few
days. Not sure if this is related to your problem.

Summary: gaim.exe crashes during MSN login

Initial Comment:
Hi,

I'm running GAIM 1.5.0 debug version, on Windows XP SP2.

Whenever I log onto MSN protocol, I get a crash like

-
Signon:gaim.exe - Application error [x]
-
(X) The instruction at 0x00c3117d referenced
memory at 0x. The memory could
not be read.

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program
-

I might want to add that my MSN screen name is of the form

[EMAIL PROTECTED]. This is a legitimate MSN passport id and I can run MSN
messenger with that as the login.

I'm also tried updating to GTK+ 2.6.10 but the problem remains.

Thanks
Siddharth

This is a proxy issue... your network setup doesn't allow gaim to make i
direct connection, and your proxy doesn't appear to support CONNECT
tunneling on port 443.

Why are you using port 443? The default yahoo port is 5050. Alternatively,
you can try port 80.

This is crashing due to a bug in the Log Reader plugin, see the
following for a workaround:

Summary: crash problem

Initial Comment:
I've been having problem with the autolog and msn when i log onto msn i causes
a problem;
gaim.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.
were sorry for the inconvenience.

then it asks me to send a error report. normally this wouldn't be a problem i
would just not log onto to msn but the auto log is on and when i start gaim it
starts msn up before it gives me a chance to turn it off. henceforth i cant
get gaim to work because it crashes 1 second after start.

which bring me to only 2 solutions one i find a way to fix the msn problem or
two find a way to turn off auto log with out turning gaim on. any suggestion?
thank you for you time and any help you can give me.

p.s. i dont know if it will help but I've notested that it always crashes when
it gets to the part of the loading bar ware it trys to get cookies from hotmail.

You need to use 2.0.0beta3.1 or newer to avoid the MSN login crash.

Initial Comment:
There is no dymanic URL link translation (if that's what you call it) in the
client chat windows
i.e
a link is received in the chat window but this does not become / translate to a
URL - it just remains static text.

eg.
www.amazon.com will not be clickable.

I will upload an image to clarify the problem.

Summary: Massive memory leak in gaim 2.0.0 beta5/6

Initial Comment:
I'm seeing a massive memory leak in both gaim 2.0.0 beta5 and 6 (I have not
tested with beta4). If I simply leave gaim running and do not do anything and
watch it through top the resident size grows. I've seen it grow up to 450mb in
a few hours. It eventually causes my system to thrash a lot and I have to
restart gaim.

Yeah, I think that bug is fixed. I'm seeing some other weird stuff where
Gaim just sits around poll()ing a random file descriptor... but I think
that's unrelated.

This looks like a bug initializing libao. I remember seeing that bug, but
I'm not sure what the fix is. If you set your sound method to command
and then use something suitable it should avoid the crash.

Summary: AOL buddies\' mobile icons not updating

Initial Comment:
If an AOL buddy has the forward to mobile option and they sign off the icon
next to their name in the buddy list should reflect that they have the forward
to mobile option with a mobile icon. This does not happen with 2.0b6 unless
you double click their name to open a chat window with that name.

The status also changes to the mobile user's true status if their status
becomes idle or away.
