Re: [galaxy-dev] Contributing to Galaxy project

2017-03-26 Thread Anton Nekrutenko
Dear Maximilian:

Thank you and welcome! There are numerous ways to help. Here are some of
them:

- Join the efforts of the Intergalactic Utilities Commission (IUC;
https://galaxyproject.org/iuc/). IUC maintains and develops Galaxy toolset.
The IUC goal is to produce a comprehensive set of tools covering major
areas of scientific data analysis (not limited to biology).
- Contribute tutorials to Galaxy Training Network (GTN;
https://galaxyproject.org/teach/gtn/).
- Improve Galaxy itself by contributing to Galaxy's codebase directly (
https://github.com/galaxyproject/galaxy/blob/dev/CONTRIBUTING.md)

Also, take a look at out gitter channel at
https://gitter.im/galaxyproject/Lobby

Thanks again!

a.

[galaxy-dev] Contributing to Galaxy project

2017-03-26 Thread maximilian_greil
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

my name is Maximilian Greil. I would like to contribute to the Galaxy project. I recently started contributing to the Biopython project and would also like to help improving the Galaxy project.

What would be a good start for a Galaxy beginner to contribute, maybe someone here knows some issues for testing or bug fixing to start with?

Kind regards,

Maximilian Greil
