[Gambas-user] Question about webForm object

2017-05-08 Thread Yahoo
Benoit,

I’m playing with webForm object for a new project and I try to render a FormWeb
over a module ‘Main’ executed as startup rather than define the FormWeb as
default startup object.

Example:

Module Main
' Gambas module file

Public Sub Main()

  ‘ Some functions executed here
  ‘ before Render the FormWeb

  ‘ == > Ex: ModTrans.Creation_List_Langue()

  ‘ Render the FormWeb
  FormWebMain.Render()

End

It works using Main module but the render is not exactly the same than when the
FormWeb is defined as default startup.
For example, the contraints in the web page are not applied using Main module
but work fine when FormWeb start directly.

So, is it possible to render a FormWeb using .Render() property or it’s a bad
idea ?

Thank you for the answer.

[Gambas-user] How to input hide password into gambas command line project ?

2015-10-01 Thread Yahoo
Hello all,

Since few day I work on a little project that consist to a cli program written
in Gambas3 where the first task is to ask to the user to enter a password but
of course, all written character must be hidden.

I try to use INPUT instruction but all characters entered are automatically
written on the terminal so it’s not a good solution.
I try to use gb.ncurses to do the same work and a strange thing happens. Just
enabling gb.ncurses on the project without any instruction to create a new
Window (as described in the gb.ncurses tutorial) and automatically all
characters written in console to the INPUT instruction are hidden. This
solution could work but I have other problem when for example I terminate the
program, the terminal where the program is started become unusable. I don’t
know why but in the end this solution is not usable in my case.

Does someone could help me on this problem please ?

PS:  Event Application_Signal(Signal As Integer) raise correctly when
gb.ncurses is disabled in console based program (Gambas
3.8.90+svn7374+build31~ubuntu14.04.1 installed into Linux Mint 17.2) but does
not raise when gb.ncurses is enabled, event if no instruction regarding this
component is used in the program.

Thank you

Thank you for all explications. I never thanked that what this way to do it.

So, I put your code in my project and it work as expected and fine.

About gb.ncurses, when I say the terminal become unusable I mean that the
Carrier Return does not work after closing my program, so press on the enter
key does not create to a new line and the prompt is written on the same line,
at the location where is the cursor.

If you use gb.ncurses, you must do all terminal I/O using gb.ncurses or else
you may mess up its internal state. That means instead of Input or Read you
have to use Window.Read().

The way gb.ncurses initialises the ncurses library (the normal way) creates
a clean new window, the standard screen, and you can't get rid of that.
Therefore gb.ncurses is useful only for projects which want a full-featured
TUI and would hence clean the screen anyway.

Indeed there are at least three better options if you just want to tempora-
rily disable echoing of input characters:

(1) Use the "stty" program as shown in the attached project,
(2) Use the termios.h functions from the C library via Extern (super
ugly), or
(3) Use gb.termios which is a component I have written for demonstration
purposes and is not in the official source tree. Incidentally it
brings the termios structures from point (2) to Gambas. You can find
its sources here[0]. The test project available there does exactly
hidden password input.

What terminal becomes unusable? And what does "unusable" mean? If you
started the project from within the IDE and checked the "Use a terminal
emulator" option, it is normal that the terminal won't respond after the
process died (a possible interpretation of "unusable").

Once the Gambas process exits, there is no process left to use the terminal
(no shell is started by the IDE to host the Gambas process), but the window
is not destroyed. It just won't respond, so that you can read the last words
of your process. This behaviour is explicitly enforced by the IDE.

If this is not your case, then be more specific and send a project that
reproduces the problem.

Regards,
Tobi

Cool.

The ServerSocket seams clean, but the Socket class should have nothing
related to a specific protocol. Those parts should have been put into
other classes like HttpSocket and WebSocket (if it is not the same thing).

And as Tobias said, all external functions should be replaced by
functions in the gb.openssl component, so that dependencies are
correctly managed.

The final result will be put in a component named "gb.net.ssl" (not
openssl, because the openssl is inside gb.openssl, and theoritically we
could have a compatible gb.mybetterssl component).

[Gambas-user] Bug during Webview Eval() usage

2015-08-18 Thread Yahoo
Hi Benoit,

I have found a bug (Segmentation fault 11) during execution of around 320
Eval() in a short time inside a loop (for each …) in a Webview.

Some time this loop works fine and each Webview1.Eval(cmd) are executed and
another time I have this error.

I don’t know if it’s important but I run a Linux Mint 17.2 on virtualBox
machine.
I use the latest SVN release 7227
I tried to execute this project as described on Gambas Web Site with gdb but I
get the same error text, no more.

I tried to compile Gambas SVN manually with only QT5 Webkit = Same error
I tried to compile Gambas SVN manually with only QT4 Webkit = Same error

Do you need a little project to reproduce the error because in this case I must
create it from the main project ?

A task is a forked process, so if you know how to do that
programmatically (which API to use), just tell me.

You can specify a fixed set of CPUs a thread may run on using
sched_setaffinity(2) but my manpage lists it in the Linux Programmer's
Manual which may indicate that it is not portable? Since every process
is a thread, this will also work with forks.

To limit a process to use only specific cpu core I use 'taskset ' command on

This one is interesting too:

It could be very useful to help the user of a software to know what do enter in

This new release fixes 459 bugs, adds 465 new features and 22 optimizations.

Some of the main changes are:

 - A new open project dialog in the IDE.
 - Support for session management.
 - Offline help automatically downloaded from the wiki.
 - Single-file mode for the IDE.
 - Support for transparent windows.
 - Shadowed text drawing routines.
 - New controls: Spinner, SwitchButton, DirBox, FontBox.
 - gb.gtk3 is a new GUI component based on GTK+ 3.
 - gb.inotify is a new component to monitor filesystem events with Linux
 inotify interface.
 - gb.markdown is a new component that implements the Gambas Markdown syntax.
 - The gb.net.smtp component has been entirely rewritten in Gambas and fixed.

See the Release Notes for the list of all new features and bug fixes.

Now let's start hacking for Gambas 3.7. The main goal now is making a
 dedicated Gambas software repository.

 In the meantime, enjoy it!

The instruction in Perl are: 'pack' and 'unpack'

This is the documentation to have an idea:

These instructions are used to split a string into respectively
variables like Byte, 16 bits integer, 32 bits integer, etc...

It's just to know if exist an equivalent in Gambas or not to not
