Also what I like personally about Ian's titles is he's sighted and he
 puts
grafics in for the sighted player so if I have a visitor here I can demo
 his titles.

 Hi there!

Some time ago we've created our first audio game. It's called Pirate
 Memory
 Game and it's a simple, audio-rich memory-type game ...conducted by a
 pirate
 and his parrot :)
So far, we've got very little feedback about it. Please share with us your
experience and thoughts on the game! It's available at
http://www.KlangoGames.com. And please, be honest -- it will help us with
 creating the next titles.
At the first launch you'll enter the tutorials -- if you don't want them,
 just
press ESC. If you want to post your best results to our website, select

 Can't wait for your opinion..

Re: [Audyssey] I'm back

2006-04-18 Thread shaun everiss
And having the linux games in windows to would be good.
Speaking of casts.
If someone gives me the server space, and everything I will be happy
to run a podcast like this.
I have space on 2 blogs but I can't get hosting for casts off this.
Since this should be a community effort everyone that wants to should
chip in with whatever they have.
I have resources to test stable windows games.
I can also have aditional resources to test on slower systems.
I have resources to record although not the best quality.
I will be able to post, every month or so.
My current blogs are
http://technology.menvi.org.
and http://wordpress.shaned.net, the latter of which Is my tech home
base where I post technical news.
I do have a free livejournal account to.
However I couldn't afford server space currently or bandwidth to host
or anything.
But I can broadcast and have the ability to upload a recorded file.
I can't upload and stream to the net as my isp does not like net
streaming and I have no cash to buy the unblocking for the ports to
stream or the cash to pay for the big amount of bandwidth I would need.
I have msn and skype.
I have irc but hardly use it.
At 05:03 AM 4/19/2006, you wrote:
 Hi all,
I'm back with this new email address. My old one got flooded with spam,
that's why I changed.
I don't know whether this has been discussed, but while was away I saw a
podcast on linux games and entertainment called lager. Not sure of the site,
but search for 'the linux link tech show' and you will find the games
podcast on the site. This made me wonder two things:
1. Even though you have to buy them, the linux games are open source. Wonder
what the chances are of some programmers making those games accessible for
blind people using linux, so that these games can be enjoyed with sighted
peers? If it was proposed that some blind programmers would help the
developers in building an accessible interface, maybe some blind linux users
and programmers would work together with the developers?
2. Most importantly, how about a blindgamers podcast? A podcast with chat,
news, and reviews of games? Have a listen to lager, and let's investigate
the possibility of something like that for audio gamers, but not as a
replacement for audyssey, more as a supplement, or basically we can record
game chats and put them up as podcasts for the rest of the community to
enjoy.
 Happy to be back!
Ari

anyone knows of a game similar to the pc game broken
sword? It's a point and click type game, where you are

questions and use things to figure out puzzles. Or
does anyone know of any archaeology type accessible

Re: [Audyssey] Linux Games.

2006-04-18 Thread Sean Mealin
Hi,
Use GRML.
http://www.grml.org
It has speakup as soon as you get it from the site. What you should do, is
just make a boot CD of it, then install it to a hard drive (witch is
easy or you can get help from your teacher, how ever, using speakup, it
is possible to do it by your self).
Then go to the accessible wiki page for GRML at
http://wiki.grml.org/doku.php?id=accessibility
and do what it says to get speakup running when it is on the hard drive
(yes, it is not as easy to get speakup to run the first time when it is on a
hard drive, and you will need sited assistance for it(at least I did).).
And, what is great is you don't need a hardware sinth.
It is completely compatible with Debian Linux, because it is based on it. I
love GRML, and have it right beside my Windows machine. What I thought was
funny, was when I even upgraded from GRML 6 to GRML 7, I still did not have
to restart Linux. Hahaha, just try to think of not restarting windows after
a major update like that. Lol

for Linux, but I am not advanced enough to get it up and running and my
