Yup, full keyboard control is included, but I recommend you try the mouse
out, as it is more fun to play the game with.
I realize you guys have never played a game for the blind with a mouse,

I'd be interested in how you take down the Rankors. As I said my method

it down with the saber.

Re: [Audyssey] Jedi Strike was u s a game titles

2006-05-07 Thread Brandon Cole
Alrighty then. Here it is, in all its strangeness and sick humor.
It happens while you're exploring the sewers on a planet called Tarris. You
learn early on of someone who tried to take down the rankor earlier, and
failed miserably. You then find out about an experimental synthetic odor
that is supposed to attract Rankors. Not only that, you find three samples
of this odor. So what you do is this. You go back to the mutilated corpse of
the person who tried to take out the Rankor. In this game, remains of any
kind are considered a sort of container when you search them. Ya know, so
you can find items on bodies and such. Well, this game also allows you to
put things in containers, or in this case, on the remains. So first, you
place a frag grenade on the body. Then, you place one of the synthetic odors
on the body. Then, you watch with delight as the Rankor approaches, sniffs,
eats the whole thing, and explodes from the inside out seconds later. I am
told it looks rather gross wheen you examine what's left of the thing. Haha.

Man they sound cool. I like how geting through them was a bit diffficult so
it was more of a challenge. And the waya person could trick a
rankorsweet I have always ramsackecked corspes in gmaes but never once
thought of putting something back in one. LOLOLOL
Great idea!!
YeahWin '95 did have some cool games. Too bad they don't work on modern
machines..they're too fast and besides you had to have multiple cd-roms to play
the game.
Reviving these old games sounds awesome I never had the chance to play them
myself. Ya could change a few things to make them difffernet so it isn't an
exact copy but follow the spirit of the older games and some of the storyline.
In any case, the games will be great

Re: [Audyssey] star wars games

2006-05-07 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi, Chris.
One thing I remember about allot of the older SW games is the maze for
the level was half the battle. You had to search for things like keys
and renches that would give you access to another part of the level.
Even when you found them you had to figure out where they could be used
to gain access to the exits.
Other times the most obvious way was blocked. You had to double back,
cut open a grate, climb through, and it gave you an alternative way in
to the rest of the level.
There was also several different ways to attack and escape from enemies.
I remember in Mysteries of the Sith having Mara Jade walk across the
roof tops of this Imperial city, and there were Storm Troopers on the
streets where you needed to be. You could take them out in two ways. You
could either draw Mara's blaster and try and sniper them, or you could
ignight your light saber, leap down on them, and do a worl wind saber
attack on them. I usually chose the second option as I was a light saber
fan, but lost health points in the process of trying to cut them all down.
In Dark Forces *II you played the part of Kyle a new Jedi learning to be
a Knight. You basicly got to choose if you were going to follow the dark
or light path.
If you chose the dark path you killed everyone and everything including
civilians without impunity. Like there was this old man on a ledge
begging for help. If you were a dark sider you pushed him off or gave
him the light saber to death. If you were a light sider you rescueed him.
If you chose the dark path by the time you reached Jeric you killed him
and took over the new order of the Sith. If you chose the light side
you killed Jeric and the sith were defeated.
As it turned out in the end Lucas Arts made Kyle Katern a dark sider. In
Mysteries of the Sith Mara Jade is attempting to find the new Lord of
the Sith. When she finally makes it to level 13, and finds the secret
antichamber Kyle Katern is the new dark lord, and the Mara clone you
killed was his aprentis.
Here to Lucas Arts did a good job of given the player a choice. There
was three endings to Mysteries of the Sith. One you turned Kyle from the
dark side, two you died, or three you defeated him in an awesome force
battle.

[Audyssey] Rail Racer beta info

Will wrote:

It is just an option for those that want to get early copies of the game.
The beta won't have any substantial bugs, I wouldn't sell a product that
wasn't fun and playable.
Even the alpha at this stage is completely playable and contains the web
code that allows automatic posting of lap times and player money, although
some areas of the game are still under development, which will be finished
before the beta is released.
Consider it a pre purchase at a discount with the added bonus of being able
to play the beta if you wish and give suggestions and feedback to help
sculpt the final product in the meantime.
I considered taking pre orders for the game, but decided I would open the
beta up for early purchase instead to those that were interested.
Of course, if you would rather wait until the game is completely finished
before purchasing, no problemo.
I personally think it is a good deal to be able to save a few bucks and
play the game early as well. Like I said, purchasers of the beta will get
free upgrades to the full version at no extra cost.

Re: [Audyssey] Rail Racer beta info

2006-05-07 Thread Che
I will address Shauns last few postings in one message here for brevity's
sake:
Regarding the review, I want a totally neutral third party to review the
game so folks won't think the review is biased in any way. I am confident
enough in the quality of Rail Racer to believe the review will be a
generally positive one.
The alpha team has been assigned serial numbers that will carry through
the beta and full release of the game.
The trial version that is a feature of the alpha may or may not be a
feature in the beta. I just haven't decided on this yet. My main concern
with a playable demo is that Rail Racer isn't like a lot of accessible games
where you can jump in, learn it in fifteen minutes and know the ins and outs
of the game. Rail Racer is a complex simulation of high speed racing, and
as such requires a certain expendature of time to nail down some of the more
detailed aspects of controlling the racer. I'm concerned that folks won't
have enough time in a limited demo to fully appreciate the more subtle
aspects of Racing the simulation. I truly believe those players willing to
invest a little time will find themselves addicted to a unique hard core
gaming experience.
But then again, I may be a little biased, grin.
Lastly, I will be creating a brand new trailer of the game this week and
posting it on the web site. As Shaun stated, lots of major changes have
been put into place since the original trailer, and I think you guys will
dig it.
  Stay tuned...

Re: [Audyssey] Rail Racer update

2006-05-07 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi, David.
More than you think. I've gotten several requests for STFC sales, and it
is only in beta. Many of them want to buy now and unlock the beta, but I
haven't installed my licensing software in to the full beta release yet
and setup my ordering system.
If people like Railracer I imagine there will be a handful who will want
to buy the beta and get the full upgrade when it comes.

Right. But who's going to want to pay for a beta?

[Audyssey] sonic invaders is now free

2006-05-07 Thread michael feir
Hello, everyone. I just discovered earlier this evening that Sonic Invaders
is a free game now. Get it from:
www.mytaras.com
For some reason, my wife gets a video memory error when she tried to play it
on her computer. I don't get that error on mine though. Has anybody else
managed to fix that?
